We are praising our Promiseland children for reaching their mission goal of $130. They purchased one goat, four ducks, and two chickens for a family in another country. This was accomplished in approximately three months. Their new goal will be to help build a school and purchase school supplies. We are very proud of our kids and their willingness to give back to God a portion of what He gives them.
If you haven’t been downstairs lately, come see how our own Jerry Tanner is transforming the Promiseland hallway with painted Bible stories. I believe I even saw him giving Dana Teefey some art lessons on how to paint clouds. Yay Jerry! We love what you’re doing.
This last month of summer, our Discovery Hour 3-to-5-year-olds are hearing about people in the Bible who made right choices and wrong choices. Through stories of Jesus’ disciples, Jonah, the leper who said “thank you,” and the Good Samaritan, kids will learn to recognize a right choice and discover God can help them make one.
K-through-5th-graders will continue to be FLIPT in their lessons to be more like Jesus. They will be given an opportunity to become Forever Friends with Jesus as they commit their lives to Him.
As the summer is winding down, we are looking ahead to the fall and what that will look like here in Promiseland. We are planning to have a promotion Sunday, September 13. At that time your children will move to their new classes. We also will present Good Night Bibles to all 2-year-olds and Adventure Bibles to all 1st-graders during “Big Church” upstairs.
At the same time, we are starting a new 2-and-3-year-old Children’s Church class. Our Walker Nursery class is getting too large, and our 3-to-5-year-old class is big again, so … our new 2-and-3-year-old class will take care of both of these overcrowding situations.
God is blessing us with more children in the nurseries and in Promiseland, but as always we trust in His faithfulness to provide all we need to minister to your children.
