Welcome to Riverside Covenant Church

Riverside Covenant Church exists to help you understand that God loves you, desires to have a relationship with you, and wants to provide you with a plan for life that is meaningful and purposeful. Come and experience what God is already doing! Come and discover what God wants to do! Come and live life with us!

We then worship together at 9:00 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. each Sunday at 1850 Woodland Avenue, West Lafayette, Indiana 47906. The church is visible from the intersection of Salisbury and Lindberg.

New to Riverside?

I am glad you found our website and hope you are discovering more about us. We are diverse people at various stages in our spiritual journeys who are working together to love God, to love each other, and to love Tippecanoe County and beyond. If you are considering attending our Sunday worship service, I am confident that you will find friendly and authentic people, biblical teaching, and good coffee.

Our goal is to partner with God in planting seeds of faith, cultivating disciples of Jesus Christ, and producing life transformation and community change. Join us as we journey together.

Want to Provide Housing for a Missionary?

The EDGE Corps is a one to two year ministry internship with The Navigators that gives recent college graduates a chance to reach college students with the gospel of Jesus Christ.  Each EDGE Corps participant raises their own support and trusts God to provide housing in their “new home”. Would you be willing to provide a home to 1-2 of these campus missionaries?  Please pray and ask God if this is a way you might be involved in advancing the gospel of Christ at Purdue University.  Interested??? Contact the church office office@rcovenant.org.

Calling All Nursery Workers

As we move to two worship services August 22nd, we are splitting each Sunday into 2 sessions and having workers sign up for (hopefully) 2 sessions a month.  While signing up, volunteers can choose to serve both sessions in one Sunday or spread them out so they can attend church the other service on each Sunday they work.  Please sign up on the form located in each of the nurseries. Guardian Angels can sign up for their timeslots by signing the form at the Angel Station.  At that time you can pick up a volunteer application form if you are new to volunteering in the children's ministries, or you have never completed and turned in an application in the past.

Wow! What a busy week. Friday was a real pain because I got stranded in London. You probably saw the email . . . Thanks for all your help via Western Union.

Let me give you a real quick update on where we are at in this series. We have been going through the various “acts of the sinful nature” in Galatians 5. We only have a few weeks left. This Sunday we are talking about “dissensions” . . . next week Todd will be giving the sermon on “factions,” then I will be doing “addictions” on the 8th, then on the 15th Dave Timmerman will finish the series with a sermon I know you have all been waiting for on “orgies.”

I was having lunch with someone from Riverside this week and we were talking about the sermon series and the Timmerman's last Sunday, which is the 15th. And the waitress was listening to us. I said that Dave was giving the sermon on the 15th, but that I had not pointed out yet to him what the last sin in the “acts of the sinful nature” was. When I said “orgies,” the waitress’s eyes got really big. Then I told her that she should come and check it out. I am not sure, but I think she may have went into the back of the restaurant and called the police.

I am not sure if Dave will call the sermon, “orgies.” In all seriousness, though the word is translated as “orgies” in the NIV and probably includes what immediately comes to mind, but it also includes all forms of disfunctional, abusive and perverted community. That, I imagine is what Dave will focus on.

This week we are discussing dissensions in the Christian community.
